These booths account for the majority of spaces and are dedicated to retailers with plenty of inventory on hand to sell to shoppers. These prices are for new merchants applying before 12/31/2019.

These booths are 10′ x 10′ and are dedicated to Main Street Associations, Convention and Visitors Bureaus, etc. These booths are to promote their area or region to shoppers, providing information on local events, dining, activities, and more. There are a limited number available.

When and where is The Mercantile?
Mercantile Mississippi will be held April 30 – May 1, 2021, at the Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson, MS.

Is The Mercantile a cash-and-carry show?

What types of businesses are accepted to be merchants at The Mercantile?
We will accept retailers that sell things like clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, art, home décor, garden items, packaged food products, and more.

How do I apply to be a merchant at The Mercantile?
An online form can be found here on our site. The form can be completed online or printed and mailed to P. O. Box 16445, Jackson, MS  39236, or emailed to

Will I automatically be accepted as a merchant?
We will make every effort to include as many businesses as possible, while still maintaining a variety of the type of merchandise sold and a well-balanced representation of retail offerings. For example, if we already have applications from several jewelers from a certain area on the map, we might reach a point where we won’t accept any more.

If I am accepted, will I automatically get the number of booths I want and/or a corner if I request it?
Again, we will make every effort to fulfill those requests. Applications are considered in the order they are received. If for some reason we cannot provide the number of booths or location you desire, we will contact you to let you know what we can offer.

I sell my own food/beverage products. Can I sell these items at The Mercantile?
Please contact us regarding these types of booths. Food and beverage policies for the venues must be followed and it depends on the type and amount of food.

What is provided with the cost of my booth(s)?
Booths come with a skirted table, a chair, and an identification sign. However, you are not required to use them.

Will my booth have electricity?
Electricity does not come with the booth, but may be arranged with the company that constructs the booth set up and provides all electrical services. Once your booth space is reserved, you will be contacted to ask about your electrical needs and any other services that can be offered for an additional fee. Those arrangements will be made directly between the booth construction service and the merchant.

Will there be Wi-Fi connection for my point-of-sale equipment?
Yes. This will be provided at no additional charge to you.

Will I have to pay taxes on my sales there at The Mercantile?
Yes. State and city laws require that the taxes due from sales of merchandise there at the show be paid at the close of the show. Tax forms will be provided to you, and everyone selling merchandise is required to complete the form and pay the taxes at the close of the show.

What sort of promotion will there be for The Mercantile?
Coverage will be provided in several issues of Mississippi Magazine. There will also be comprehensive newspaper, radio, billboard, television, and social media campaigns.
