FROM THE LAST ISSUE
This rustic log cabin is known as the Foster-Smith Log Cabin, located in Brookhaven. Originally built in 1825 by John Foster on an old post road in Beauregard, it features hand-hewn logs and a simple elegance that embodies the pioneer spirit. The cabin was moved to Brookhaven in the 1950’s by Andrew and Monelle Smith to save it from destruction. Today it is used for public events and historic education. Thanks to all who entered our drawing, and congratulations to our winner, Kathleen Fick, Grand Blanc, Michigan.
